volcano
"Volcano" is a flowerpot and a fish tank at the same time. The name and motive of the design came from a volcano. It is separated into two layers to contain the lives of land and water. The liveness of the fish swimming within the transparent glass and the life force of the plants growing within the transparent glass allow you to feel the life. The importance of life is emphasized by designing the volcano consisting of land, water, and air.
More than 80% of the earth's surface is of volcanic origin. The gaseous emissions from volcanoes formed the Earth's atmosphere. Volcanoes connect us to the Earth's core. Whether active or dormant, they radiate energy and beauty as a part of life.
I want to represent our life in coexistence with nature by designing a volcano that consists of land, water, and air. It would be nice if we think about the meaning of our life when we see the object.
To fabricate this concept I sketched, rendered 3D models, printed the first mock-up on a 3D printer, and produced the second mock-up twice.
